One of our previous missions was to serve Gourmet Sandwich Meals -- Served Riverside at Music in the Park.

Music in the Park
is hosted by the Village of Phoenix on Monday and Friday Evenings every Summer.  It’s a great evening of fun for our Phoenix Community. Perfect weather and entertainment on the banks of the Oswego River in Phoenix.

We are a church that believes the children are our future. Hey! Isn’t that a song? But truer words…

During the “Souper Bowl” Sunday, our children collect canned goods for our Phoenix Food Pantry, which is housed in the Congregational Church a block over from us. We believe this teaches our children the spirit of fruitful giving we hope endures all their lives.

Locktoberfest at the Oswego River!

Locktoberfest
October in the Village of Phoenix brings Locktoberfest! Our church is always represented with different activities. In 2021, we hosted pony rides for $5 per child, on big Ponies! We are blessed to be on the banks of the beautiful Oswego River, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day for the community to come out and play!

Our Mission has had to change the ways we help our local families wash their clothes, and we ARE Here to Help.

When you contact our church before the end of the month, we supply the detergent, dryer sheets, clean garbage bags (to pack clean clothes into), and the coins to wash and dry the clothes. For families, we supply enough for five loads. For single people, three loads.
We celebrated our 1st anniversary in February, 2020.

FUMC Cookie Walk!

Oh Yes! You see the cookies! Each December FUMC has a Cookie Walk. The cookie walk will be on December 11, and the pre-order forms will be available at the end of November.

We are a Miracle, Blessed By God.

The miracle of transformation is, from beginning to end, a work of God’s grace. To be transformed is to be changed from one way of being to a new way of being.

Here is how Wesley described God’s grace:
Prevenient grace literally means “the grace that comes before.” Prevenient grace calls us into a relationship with God before we are even aware of God. It prepares us for the dawning awareness that God loves us so much that God seeks us out first.

Justifying grace offers reconciliation, the forgiveness of sin, freedom from the power and guilt of sin, and the possibility of new relationships with God and with one another.

Sanctifying grace enables us to grow into the image of Christ and to live as a sign of God’s reign among us. Sanctifying grace leads to inward and outward holiness.

Through Christian education, we create sacred spaces in which people can present themselves to God and where the ongoing work of transformation can take place.
